Godliness
Anchored in Galatians 2:20 — "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me" — this sermon asks a searching question of every believer: who is actually living through you? Rev. Koye-Ladele opens by observing that the name "Christian" was never meant to describe a religious affiliation but a way of life modelled on Christ himself, and that in a nation where unrighteousness has become normal even among the churched, this distinction matters urgently. He then works through the letters of the word GODLINESS as a framework: Grab a hold of God rather than religion; Overcome sinful distraction as Joseph did; Devotion as the engine of a consistent prayer and study life; Love of God expressed in love of neighbour; Increase in biblical knowledge as the foundation of victory; Never compromising, as Daniel refused the king's food; and Eternity as the orienting focus of every decision. The sermon closes with a call to sanctification — setting oneself apart in purity — and a reminder that contentment is not a matter of how much money one has, but of the peace and joy found in Christ alone. Integrity, Rev. Koye-Ladele insists, is everything: when it is lost, everything is lost.
