Covenanting with God
Preached on the first Sunday of 2022, this sermon called the congregation to begin the new year not in anxiety, but in deliberate covenant with the living God. Drawing on the covenant God made with Abraham in Genesis 17 and the promises of Deuteronomy 28, Rev. Koye-Ladele reminded his people that unlike earthly kings and human agreements, God is a covenant-keeping God who cannot die and who never goes back on His word. He outlined seven covenants to claim and pray through as the year unfolded — peace, prosperity, protection, power, promotion, perfection, and blessing — each grounded in Scripture and sealed through prayer, fasting, and faithful obedience. It was a message of deep pastoral care, urging every believer to walk into the unknown year not alone, but bound to the God who already knows its end.
